Crazy Theory
1. Large companies crowd out smaller competitors in many core markets (food, clothing, etc)
2. Reduced discretionary spending means that necessary items (food, clothing, etc) aren’t impacted as directly as non-necessary items.
3. Economic decline combined with advances in process improvement allow companies to operate more efficiently, reducing excess spending - layoffs/firings occur.

I was working on yet another rant in my head, and after a time realized that I was wishing that I had artistic ability simply so that I could transform my message into a medium that most people might actually look at, let alone understand. Then the irony showed up.

Am I the only one who finds it more than a little ironic that Pirates are the reason we will likely be re-entering Somalia?
